Antoine Motard

Antoine Motard was born in 1958 into a family whose father was a cabinetmaker; from 1973, the family business turned to designing, making and selling coffee tables. Now part of the Couture group and based in La Châtaigneraie, in the Vendée, the firm combines glass, wood, ceramic and metal. Most of its ranges can be personalised in the choice of colour, shade or material.

We sell six of its pieces. Five sit in our coffee tables section: two lift-top models, in oak and ceramic or oak and metal, a ceramic coffee table on metal legs with an oak insert, a round pedestal table in oak and metal, and a small metal living-room table. The Danube console with its marble top joins our plant stands and console tables.

Black and light wood recur from one piece to the next, in a clean, modern line that sits as easily in front of a sofa as in the hallway of a mountain home. A contemporary piece of furniture without giving up wood.
